Centum Real Estate (Centum RE) is partnering with IFC, the private sector arm of the World Bank , on accelerating the adoption of green building practices through the promotion of voluntary green building certification programs based on the EDGE (“Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies”) software, standard, and certification system.

Centum RE and IFC are establishing a framework for greater collaboration in pursuit of their shared aspirations to move the commercial real estate on to a lower-carbon, more resource-efficient path. To this end, Centum RE is committing to catalyze and/or complete five (5) EDGE certifications across its portfolio in Kenya and Uganda during FY 25.

Centum RE aims to EDGE certify 80% of the volume of its projects in the next three (3) years, with a view to increasing this to 100% within the next five (5) years. The commitment to design and build resource efficient projects with EDGE is aligned to Centum RE’s ESG Strategy.
